Barnie Slice Coastal Bird Paintings – Purple/Yellow 'Vigil I & II' – Set of 2
Two unique, incredble pieces from local South Carolina artist Barnie Slice.
Both are hand-painted canvas/wood frames created using only shades of purple and yellow. Featuring a gorgeous bird (great erget?) watching the fishing boats pass.
Inscriptions on back frame:
1) Vigil I - "Painted in yellow and purple only this scene depicts man passing through the corridors of nature on their way to work. How many appreciate the beauty of nature as the pass?"
2) Vigil II - "This scene, painted only in yellow and purple, depicts the beauty of the world around us as we travel to our places of work. Lucky is the person who works on the sea......"
Quick artist bio:
A true artist with almost 70 years of painting experience. Active in the community and a co-owner of Island Art Gallery in Pawleys Island (South Carolina) whose talent is recognized far and wide, two of his paintings displayed in the White House during Ronald Reagan's administration.
